Buying a new home
As a real estate agent who specializes in helping buyers, I'm often asked about the advantages and disadvantages of buying a brand-new home. My standard answer is that it is just too difficult -- and even risky -- to generalize.

In every case a lot of research and calculations should be done before you buy a new home. For while it's tempting to assume that the home is well constructed, that's not necessarily the case, as many people unfortunately find out. In addition, it might just come with some hidden costs that you didn't bargain for.

So if you ever consider purchasing a new home or if you have any questions about new homes, please call or email me any time. Through experience I have come to know exactly what to look for in a new home, what questions to ask and who to ask. I can also help you make all the important calculations that could make a difference in your final decision.

Business is good though market is slow
One sure sign of agents who make integrity and hard work the hallmarks of their buyer agent service is that they're successful even when the market is slow. The point is that they continue to apply all the practical fundamentals and, consequently, continue to provide the service required to meet their clients' objectives.

That considered, I just wanted to say that, even though the market has been better, I've still managed to do about as well as I always have. I'm still getting the job done for buyers because, through experience, I've figured out ways to turn softer markets to my buyers' advantage. In addition, I've come to the conclusion that the best solution to a softer market is harder work.

I also want to point out one thing that's often forgotten. Although home prices are a little lower than previous market levels, everything is relative. This market offers a great opportunity to "move-up", as the value of higher priced homes has also been reduced by the same percentage. This means that their price has come down more than your price has. On the flipside, when market values rise again, their price will go up more than yours will.
